Microsoft Project Server for Project Managers - 7-14 PDU's
Course Aim/Objectives:
This can be run as a 1 or 2 day course. The 1 day course is appropriate for those with prior experience of MS Project standard and the 2 day course is for beginners.
The aim of this course is to enable participants to effectively and efficiently use MS Project Server as a tool to assist in managing projects.
Course Assesment/Outcomes
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Initiate and build your project schedule
- Enter tasks into your project, including summary tasks and milestones
- Link tasks together and set dependencies between tasks
- Assign resources and costs to your project
- Establish baselines for your project
- Save your project file
- Set project alerts for yourself and your resources
- Understand and perform the team member role in tracking project progress including
o updating progress on tasks
o view, edit and update tasks
o reject and create tasks
o transfer tasks to MS Outlook
- Understand and perform the project manager role in updating progress project including
o approving of actual work
o accepting / rejecting requested changes to project tasks
o automate the tasks update process
o update and re-publish the plan
o request and submit status reports
o perform document management
o perform issue management
o perform risk management
- Execute portfolio modelling and analysis
