Advanced Diploma of Project Management - 40 PDUs

Course Aim/Objectives:

This practical, accelerated program covers the higher level attributes of managing multiple projects and is aligned with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to cover the nine project management areas.

The aim of this course is to provide participants with practical skills and knowledge in the following modules

  •  Direct the integration of multiple projects/programs
  •  Direct the scope of multiple projects/programs
  •  Direct time management of multiple projects/programs
  •  Direct cost management of multiple projects/programs
  •  Direct quality management of multiple projects/programs
  •  Direct human resources management of multiple projects/programs
  •  Direct communications management of multiple projects/programs
  •  Direct risk management of multiple projects/programs
  •  Direct procurement and contracts of multiple projects/programs

Minimum Entrance requirements/ suggestions Recommended Entrance Requirements:

Diploma of Project Management or equivalent experience and a working knowledge of the PMBoK, or equivalent recognized PM Standards.

Participants should currently be working at a senior level within a project environment. They should have accountability for a work-based initiative involving a range of projects at the program manager level.  We recommend that participants have a minimum of five years work experience in a project management environment and at least two years experience as a project manager in a medium to large organization.

Course Assesment/Outcomes

Career opportunities and Program Outcomes Career opportunities include - Program Management, Portfolio Management and Project Directing roles.

Graduates of this program will be able to integrate multiple projects, a program of related projects, a mega-project or a multi-faceted organisational change to achieve planned business outcomes, while successfully managing internal and external client expectations.

Program and portfolio management continues to emerge as professional disciplines due to the clear need for increased governance of corporate projects and better alignment between projects and business strategy.

Course rules/ Assessment Requirements To successfully achieve the Advanced Diploma of Project Management BSB60904, participants must:

  • Have relevant work experience at an appropropriate level.
  • Complete a portfolio of work-based evidence against assessment elements in the Assessment Record Book (with mentoring support available).  The assessment record captures evidence of the management and completion of a real project.
  • Attend an assessment interview to present this project evidence and discuss the application of project management competencies within the workplace, and
  • Complete the assessment within six months of the completion of commencement.
